Although there are a ton of B&Bs in Portree, I found it rather difficult to find a place at first. Everything was either completely booked up, or super expensive. But as opposed to a large number of Portree B&Bs, there aren’t too many hotels on the Isle of Skye.
Staying in Portree has many advantages on your trip to the Isle of Skye. It’s centrally located to most all of the major hikes, and there’s a good choice of food in the city center.

1. The Cuillin Hills Hotel
This is arguably the best hotel in Portree. It’s a 4-star hotel and we stayed here for one night. The rooms were comfortable and refreshingly modern. The restaurant was also pretty formal, facing the water. The food was good, but not life-changing. We did have a snarky waitress though who kinda acted a little snooty though.
