The Park Royal on Pickering Singapore: The Balance of City & Nature

The Parkroyal on Pickering | Awesome Architecture in Singapore

Singapore is tied for my favorite country for various reasons but one of which has to do with the fact that it cares about preserving nature in the city. Once a jungle, Singapore has rapidly developed over the 19th century into one of the wealthiest countries on this planet.

Yet, it didn’t have to give up its environment or concern for aesthetics to do so. The Parkroyal on Pickering essentially captures this Singaporean design aesthetic which encompasses values of both nature and design.

There’s an awareness of how each design or detail will affect the whole which is what makes the city so amazing.

I stayed here in 2014 and really liked the property. This was around the time The Parkroyal just opened. This time around, I ended up getting a really good rate of about $200 SGD a night.

My flight got into Singapore around 6 AM so I headed straight from Changi to the Parkroyal. This was just in time to catch the sunrise over the city and to bask in the welcoming tropical humidity on the equator.

The ParkRoyal on Pickering is one of the most fun places to shoot if you love architectural photography and design. Every corner of this hotel is packed with detail, both the city and the architecture.
