When School Takes Over Your Life
Before starting school in September, I probably worked a hundred hours a week on this site. I knew I needed to reach a certain traffic threshold and I needed to implement X number of variables to do that. The thing I love the MOST about blogging is not necessarily the writing, (sad but true), but it’s the strategy involved in publishing valuable content and then tweaking x variables to get y results. To see your Google Analytics increase every month is the exciting part.
There’s a bottom line in mind and reaching those goals with strategy is truly what motivates me. Most people probably don’t want to hear this, but I’m in it to make a living. Some others look down on bloggers who are in it for the business. But in all honesty, time is money. Good content and blogging for profit aren’t mutually exclusive.
I haven’t written nearly as much, but what I did over the summer has helped. Because of this, I’ve felt less pressured to write.
I started school with every intention of writing 4 times a week, but I knew that would be difficult because it’s impossible to predict how tired you’ll be. I’m the type of person that needs to focus on one thing at a time in order to do my best at it, though. So in order to get the most out of photography school right now, I need to devote my time primarily to it. The world of blogging and the world of art school are two totally different things and they don’t exactly overlap. So, apologies for not writing! Two weeks off is my limit and it’s generally not a good idea to let it go this long. But, I’m still working behind the scenes but I think I’m going to start looking for writers to help contribute content. If you’re interested in guest posting, drop me a line at [email protected]
